When it comes to professional gymnastics, there are several equipments that a gymnast needs to use. While some of these equipments are fairly easy to manage, there are others that are slightly difficult to deal with. Amidst the ones that bring along intricacy, a gymnast club tops the list. It is by far one of the most difficult gymnastic equipments to manage.

These clubs are used simultaneously with both the hands. This means that a gymnast using these clubs must have enough arm strength in both the arms. Until and unless the gymnast has enough arm strength, he/she will not be able to coordinate with both the hands.

Another factor that makes these gymnast clubs a complicated equipment is the series of movements they envisage. It is mandatory to include asymmetric movements while using these clubs. This requires a high degree of coordination and control on the part of the gymnast. Lack of control could cause the clubs to slip away easily. Besides, the gymnast must have 100 % concentration to deliver the desired movement.

Considering the level of complexity involved with gymnastic clubs, it is not advised for beginners. You should not try gymnastic clubs till the time you have some level of experience with other equipment. Once you have accomplished the beginner level well, you can proceed to using clubs.

When you begin using clubs, make sure that you start with simple movements. One of the simplest movements that you can practice using a gymnast club is a mill. In simple words, a mill basically refers to a small circle. Once you are accustomed to practicing mills using clubs, you can move on to the next level. Combine simple swinging and circling along with mills to create a perfect movement.

To create a complete sequence using clubs, it is important that you show some variation. Divide the entire sequence into three phases for best results. Usually people alter the tempo of the movements to create a perfect sequence. For instance, you could start by fast and active movements and then proceed to slow and simple moves. Finally, conclude with fast and active movements again. Besides playing with the tempo of the movements, you ca also alter the rhythm or the complete style.

Once you start becoming comfortable with the club, you can start getting innovative. You can practice different styles coupled with different body movements. Make sure that you practice throwing and swinging with clubs only at a much later stage.

Gymnastic clubs are indeed a complicated equipment to practice. But, once you become comfortable with these equipments, you can come out with some of the finest sequences.
