He is known as the best male gymnast in the Olympic history. He is the member of the World Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Nikolai Andrianov This gentleman belonged to Russia and is class apart. He won 15 medals in the Olympics more than any other gymnast ever. Nikolai also performed wonderfully in various other competitions and out-performed others there too. He was trained by the best trainer of the USSR, Nikolai Tolkachev. Dmitry Vladimirovich Bilozerchev A Russian again, Dmitry is the youngest male world champion. He was just 16 in 1983 when he made this world record. His future records were as bright; he won 4 medals in the 1988 Olympics, 3 being gold. He was a gymnastics sensation and dominated in the 80's. This was proven by the fact that he only in two years of his auto accident could return to the world championship. He won three medals in this tournament. This assured him a place in the International Gymnastics Hall Of fame. Larissa Latynina This Russian female gymnast does not need any introduction. She has made a place in history of gymnastics as she has won 18 medals in the Olympics, 9 being gold. She also made a record of winning 9 Olympic gold medals for the first time. She has been honored by the 'Olympic Order', by the International Olympic Committee in 1989. Nadia Comanneci Nadia is a Romanian and is one of the greatest gymnasts. The perfect score of 10 was her claim to fame in the Olympic games of the 1976 at a tender age of 14. She has won 9 medals and 5 of them were gold. After her retirement, she undertook to spread gymnastics, especially in the USA. There are many other famous gymnasts and these were among the few who brought laurels to their country and made the viewers proud.
